I got a whole load of provisioning notices, and it seems that things have not installed as expected

Hi @leesbian, not seeing those issues after destroying and reprovisioning my instance. From the errors it looks like it might be a networking issue, perhaps the virtual machine is unable to communicate with the outside network.

After it starts up, ssh to the machine and try to manually run an apt-get or ping google.com. Another thing to check could be the settings on the box. You should see two network adapters, a NAT one and a Host Only adapter.

Closing this issue since its a bit old and both magento 2 + this VM have changed a bit since it was initially opened. Please reopen if you're still having issues.
