For context, some time ago I posted a proposal on how to improve the Code of Conduct we already have.

However, for the improvements to take presence, I want to make sure that people responsible for enforcing them do agree with them.

As far as I can see, the current revision mentions Robbie's email address at the redhat.com domain:

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be
reported to the community leaders responsible for enforcement at
rharwood AT redhat DOT com.
All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

All community leaders are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the
reporter of any incident.

While I don't know, what was happening inside Red Hat, Inc., because I was never employed there, I can see Robbie having a personal email address on their profile, as well as a hiring availability reference.

Therefore, I can sense that there were some layoffs going on and that email address, which resides in the actual document, is no longer applicable.

Since I'd like to confirm with the Code of Conduct enforcement team that they will be fine with the changes I want to introduce, I'd like to contact them for clarification.

The last time I tried pinging Robbie here or chatting about heavy metal music on IRC, I got no response. I don't understand, why that is, but considering this, I'm unsure if sending a GPG-encrypted email or commenting on their Mastodon profile would do the job as well.

Therefore, the questions that arise from this meta issue, before me attempting to add document improvements, are:

  • How do I directly contact the Code of Conduct enforcement team (here: for issues other than reporting unacceptable behavior)?
  • Is Robbie still the one in charge of enforcement?
  • Is their redhat.com email address valid?
  • If not, who shall be in charge and what email address should be present in the document?

I'm assigning this one to the people from the committee who have been there long enough to know the best, how to resolve it.

Ah, thanks for raising this. Robbie left RedHat a few months ago, meaning that the current setup isn't going to work. :-(

I'll happily take this on myself, but it would be better to have more than one person involved I think. Let's add this to the agenda for Monday.

I've raised this with the shim and grub folks too, and I've just mailed folks on the (mostly dormant!) EFI mailing list (https://lists.einval.com/pipermail/efi/2023-November/000112.html) to see if we can get things moving forwards.

Pinged people again, let's get this sorted.
