On Arch Linux, using bc7enc, it works fine on BC3 but I'm having trouble with BC1. With a PNG input, with a rectangular part on top and bottom being transparent, only the bottom part becomes transparent, while the top becomes black. Attempting to use another image as alpha mask doesn't help either.

BC1 transparency isn't supported - it's rarely used. How important is it to you?

Well, I believe I'd just have one very niche use for it in Source engine, so not very. I just thought it was supposed to work as it had partially worked in my tests.

I doubt I'll ever support BC1 transparency unless somebody sponsors the work. So I'll leave this up as an enhancement with no ETA.
