Hello @kidzgy , Feel free to test the "BETA/RC PortableApps", version "Notepad3Portable_6.23.513.1_beta.paf" or newer, see in issue #1129.

The bug has been tested and fixed. |
As shown in the picture, after you have checked "Only One Instance per File", and saved the settings, exit all the notepads.
Open one file first, press ALT+TAB while opening instantly, and then open the second one quickly, so that you can break the limit of one instance.
Also mention that I use "Image File Execution Options" to replace the system's native notepad.
