Tab auto completion not working for yum in Fedora 18 #1853

After installing oh my zsh on Fedora 18, the auto completion for yum stopped working. I get the following error:

Cannot find repomd.xml file for fedora/18/x86_64

probably the yum cache is broken but I did try running yum makecache which dint solve the issue. Any pointers here?
