truncate selected text if needed

Options with long text wrap very well in the options list but overflow when selected.

Truncating the selected text based on the width of the button and position of the down-arrow would be pretty rad. Optionally appending an elipsis to the truncated text might be a nice touch as well.

@BK4D You are right. I deleted that repo 6 months ago. Sorry about that! Perhaps @jonkirkman has the patch somewhere?

In addition to that, I have no clue which project I ended up using that code. 😕
