W205 Class Project

This repository contains source code and final outputs for the W205 Final Class Project. This project demonstrates a real world storage and retrieval system for a big data application. Specifically, we focus on analysis of real time data of Bitcoin prices, transaction data, twitter traffic and twitter sentiment analysis of tweets containing bitcoin. The objectives of the project are:

1. Real time analysis Bitcoin twitter traffic (all tweets containing the word ‘bitcoin’) vs Bitcoin transaction traffic (from Blockchain).
2. Correlation with commodities such as Oil, Gold, Silver, Copper etc.
3. Model and visualize data in a dashboard, automatic refresh for real-time updates.

Technologies used: Apache Storm, Postgres, Python and Tableau
