Most Linux distros now use AppIndicator instead of GtkStatusIcon,

Can node-webkit be updated to use AppIndicator?

+1 here, as well. The Tray doesn't show up in Ubuntu 13.10.

Appindicator has since become quite popular, and it would be awesome if node-webkit shifted to it. Any updates on this?
