Version 2.9.0 installed from RubyGems still not compatible with Ruby 3? #577

When I install roo version 2.9.0 from RubyGems, I hit the incompatibility with Ruby 3, as described in #551.

It works when I install from Github master.

Could it be that somehow, the RubyGems version is not current?

I can not confirm that the code pushed to RubyGems as v2.9.0 is different from the actual one.
Current HEAD are somewhat changed from v2.9.0, so that could lead to errors.
Can I see your error backtrace?

@bovender please have a look at the latest 2.10.0 release. This should be up2date with master
