When I do Alt+LeftMouseButton+DragVertically a text block is selected but can not be copied/cut/pasted.
Backspace and Delete keys also do not work.
Typing in the selected text block also does not work.

@github-wow Thank you for raising this! In RStudio, that combination is used for creating multiple cursors, not for dragging text. Is this different from previous versions of RStudio?

@ronblum block selection with Alt followed by copy-cut-paste worked always for me. (I meant dragging cursor, let's skip that)

Found out:

When I press Alt key to extend the cursor to several lines the cursor extends.
But when I release the Alt key the File menu is activated.
When I press Alt key again, the extended cursor starts blinking and one can type the text in the several lines, select, copy, cut, normally.

So smth. wrong with the focus after Alt key release
