I don't really like using global variables like $MaxOpenFiles in the rsyslog configuration and more inclined to use the global configuration construct. Can we have a replacement for MaxOpenFiles ?

Currently there are two ways to set this property:

In rsyslog config using $MaxOpenFiles (https://www.rsyslog.com/doc/v8-stable/configuration/global/options)/rsconf1_maxopenfiles.html)

In systemd configuration using LimitNOFILE (https://www.rsyslog.com/doc/master/troubleshooting/file_not_written.html)

which is the most recommended approach ?
