License clarification #11
Comments
BSD-2-Clause. Old license was Apache 2 for a brief period until I learned it did not require copy holder accreditation. The README has been fixed as of v1.5.0. Thanks. |
Actually, that's not 100% right. There are two scripts within the library that are GPL, the rest are BSD. Which reminds me that I need to try and contact the original version's authors and see if they are okay with a switch to BSD, and I should flesh out the COPYING file more. |
Any update on this? |
Okay, I think it's all good. The next release (1.5.1) will clarify the license which will be MIT for everything. I checked all the derivative works and reviewed my emails for discussions I've had with the authors, and they are either public domain, or the same license or the author has given me permission to redistribute under such license. |
Is there a time frame to release 1.5.1? |
Just released 2.0.0. |
Thank you! I'm closing this issue then. |
Hiya,
Could you please explain what's the current license of this library? The reason why I'm asking is described in this issue:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=787167
README says it's Apache, COPYING says it's BSD.
Thank you!
