Sorry I completely missed this, I just tried it on JupyterLab 3.0.0, it doesn't seem to happen anymore, is this still an issue for you?

Hi @ryantam626 ,
I have changed shortcut to ctrl + shift + D for duplicating lines with your extension, so cmd + shift + D remained as it was designed for in JLab. I'm not yet using v3.0, I'm on 2.9. I tend to wait a month or so - so that all extensions, packages I'm using get updated and upstreamed. I'm planing to jump on v3.0 end of Feb, beginning of Mar.
