  • The server should be an inexpensive, 'standard-issue' VPS or VPS cluster.
  • No code should be unnecessarily vendor specific.
  • The host should have good APIs.
  • The host should be flexible for deployment options.
  • Latest Ubuntu LTS.
  • Everything should be behind Cloudflare.
  • Consider subsystem needs, such as database, search, caching, and computation.
  • Dockerized or image based would be an ideal solution.
  • Document all steps so others can easily replicate.
