latency issues with RXTX

It looks like there are some significant latency issues in the RXTX library, this thread has some information and links about that:

I've run into this issue myself, trying to build a midi controller using arduino and serial-port.

It looks like this fork of RXTX may address the latency issues, as well as the ttyACM port name issue.

I'd like to try building rxtx22 for testing with this new lib, but I can't seem to find the source! Is that online anywhere? I've built the arduino rxtx .jar and .so files, but getting them to work with leiningen is a challenge for me as a java noob.
