What's the difference between using this repository vs https://github.com/samueldr/wip-pinebook-pro ? I found this initially because I was looking for where you implemented the uboot boot selection. Thanks for your work again!

Ah, sorry! This here is an experiments repository, this is used in combination with #162 to allow "external" devices to work. I don't expect the Pinebook Pro in this repo here will ever be useful for end-users, only as dogfooding for myself in some future.

The actual "WIP" repository as you linked is where "real deal NixOS on Pinebook Pro" happens.
