Think I found the solution. I noticed that SMS is send correctly, if the number
has not the international pre-election for example +49/0049 (germany), +7/007
(russia), +1/001 (U.S.A.) will not work.

Don't know if I can receive SMS at NITDroid, if they are send with pre-election
on my number. Was not possible to test, at the moment.

GB!

well i have noticed sending sms to this number format +97123456789 the sms does
not go through and the receiver does not receive it.. while if you send using
the following format 009712345678 the sms is received successfully

Here are the logs after reproducing both working and non-working scenario.
I noticed this line in the radio.log:
VCM.Dial(+970597272661, ) failed: The name org.ofono was not provided by any
.service files

i have tried to send sms without +1 (just 8885551212 for example) and it still
does not send even though it says it has sent. i tried many formats sending it
to myself, and also to my friend who was with me. no outgoing sms has been
received by anyone from me ever since i installed nitdroid. receiving seems to
be fine.

New ofono working good for me. Long SMS now coming through as separate
messages which is better than not at all! Country code working fine too.

you need to set execution bit in permissions:
chmod 755 /system/bin/ofonod

Scrap my comment about long sms's (> 126 characters). It appears to be
intermittent, some messages are coming through as multiple messages, others
just truncate and still don't receive the rest :(

Country code still good though :)
