Let me further comment that I frankly WANT this to work. Its a great starting point for anyone working with CodeIgniter. |
I am surprised by your comments! I did not expect any I think that is the basic starting point for a codeigniter project should have. You may still be things illogical or not work properly but at the moment under development and not worry about me that would be accessible to everyone (just today changed the readme to make it a bit clearer, but that is not enough yet). In my development environment works perfect. www.ci.com is the domain that I use for testing in a local environment. You must make changes in config.php as when starting a new project in codeigniter, I do not have to do any special installation, exactly the same steps. (You may have written something hardcored, makes testing with another domain and I will explain the steps you must follow) I am developing the scaffolding at the moment. It is a new form of scaffolding that has been very useful in a proper framework that I developed, and wanted to carry the idea to codeigniter because it can be very powerful) I'll try to do an installation guide more clear so you can try. Surely the problem you have is unimportant. In a week, I hope to have a first version with all the initial ideas implemented and ready for you can use it. And I hope you can try and follow me informed of the problems you find Thank you for your interest |
You can download the new version and try it. I deleted all the variables, configurations that I use in my local environment. Now the installation is the same that CodeIgniter. If you have installed CodeIgniter sometime, you will not have any problem for install this. I wait for your comments! |
I REALLY appreciate all your effort! I'll get this up and running, and begin testing. You have a great idea in building a 'starter' for CodeIgniter. Thank you! |
I close the issue because the project wasn´t ready for use. At this moment I think that you should not have more problems with the setup. If you have one, it will be more specific and it´s better open a new ticket Thanks for your time! |
I've never been able to get this to run properly. There are links back to ci.com (not affiliated with codeIgniter) in the .htaccess file as well as the config and in the templates themselves. I'm not sure if these are there for examples or something else.
Regardless, I've never been able to get the base_url, base_domain. No matter what the path defaults to http://. that's right, there's a DOT (.) after http:// that makes it impossible to get the paths set up correctly. Maybe I'm missing something but this hasn't worked for me.
