Deployments show as successful in Sanity but actually failed in Vercel

We ran into an issue with how the plugin is reporting successful deployments in Sanity. We had two production deployments that showed as successful in the Sanity dashboard:

However, the cms changes were not taking effect on our site in production and when we checked Vercel we could see that some checks had failed and prevented deployment:

We are on the latest version 2.0.1 of the plugin.

Any insight into this issue would be helpful. Thank you.
