Publish SBT to Debian/Ubuntu #63
Comments
What kind of package are you looking for? Our .deb is available here now: |
My guess is he was talking about a repository, ala PPA for Ubuntu (not sure what the rpm equiv is). |
@eltimn You can use bintray as a debian repository (like a PPA but it doesn't hook the apt-add-repository command). |
If that's the case, then, first of all that's pretty cool. Secondly, I would suggest that should be documented on the sbt download page instead of (or in addition to) the .deb links. I haven't used bintray yet, so I'm still not sure how to do that, but I'll keep looking through their docs. |
In case anyone else was wondering how to install from the bintray deb repository. Go to the sbt deb project on bintray and click on the "Set me up!" button for instructions. |
This was done a while back - http://www.scala-sbt.org/0.13/docs/Installing-sbt-on-Linux.html |
There is no package available to download, even though a .deb is available from the website.
This is very important when building servers, specially if you are using virtual images like vagrant and docker.
