The upcoming version of PGV (protoc-gen-validate) is going to be protovalidate

We would like to switch to using protovalidate which is technically backward compatible but our scala code can't catch-up with it.

Contribution guide is here for adding a new language support: https://github.com/bufbuild/protovalidate/tree/main

Hi @Dogacel , thanks for starting this issue. It would be great if we can have protovalidate support. It looks like there is going to be significant amount of work involved. Assuming this is a commercial use case, can you check if your organization can sponsor the work and we'd have it result in an open source project? Happy to discuss in private at thesamet at gmail.com

Hi, unfortunately, we are moving away from scala and our company is really tight on resources. We really would like to help this but I am planning to work on this outside the work hours 🙂

I'll still ask just in case but I would say chances are very low. Thanks for the kind offer!
