The film is a stylish action thriller that features stunning cinematography and fast-paced sequences. The plot takes the viewers on a global chase, as the characters visit various locations such as Mumbai, Samos Island in Greece,[3] Istanbul, London and Bangkok. The film belongs to the same type of genre as The Bourne Identity trilogy,[4] which combines espionage, mystery and suspense. The film also draws inspiration from Agatha Christie's classic novel And Then There Were None, where a group of strangers are invited to an isolated location and start dying one by one. The theatrical trailer of the film was first shown in theatres along with Anees Bazmee's comedy No Problem on 10 December 2010. The film was released on 1 April 2011.
The film revolves around a mysterious invitation that brings together eight strangers to a secluded island. They soon discover that they have been chosen by a mysterious mastermind who goes by the name of Mr. X. Mr. X informs them that they are all connected by a dark secret and that he has planted a bomb in each of their hearts. The only way to survive is to kill the others before the timer runs out.
