Questions about BingeWorthy profile pages #188
Comments
This is minor but I found it odd there is no direct link back to the bingeworthy.io landing page from your profile page. When I looked yesterday after you post I had to edit the UL twice to get back to BingeWorthy.io. Today I found that its more direct to click on a show, then the BingeWorthy 2 logo. Also minor - the BingeWorthy pages disable Ctrl - F function on Windows IE edge (I don't login to twitter on Chrome). |
Check it again, I just put a couple of links at the bottom of the page. Not sure what you mean by pages disable Ctrl-F. Which pages? Do they "disable" other control characters? I promise you my code doesn't intentionally disable anything. |
Sorry it disables the find popup via the normal keystroke of Ctrl-F at the URL http://bingeworthy.io/tv/, instead the focus jumps to Family Tree. By default IE Edge doesn't show a menu bar where you could select Edit -> Find or similar. I use find a lot versus poking around lists and trying to find the right place. |
I don't know what Family Tree is. |
Family Tree is the first TV shows in the F's alphabetically. It seems like the JavaScript is ignoring the Ctrl key, and reading the F, and the UI looks for the character keys as an input to jump the focus to the first item in the list starting with that character. |
OK -- I think I understand the problem. Try it again and see if Ctrl-F gets you the browser's Find command. And make sure when you press keys without the Ctrl key down (Cmd on the Mac for other people) that it still navigates to the proper program. |
Yes both are now working! Thank you, iolaire |
I was looking for a link in the other direction. Finally found it in the menu as "My top picks". If you're calling this feature the profile page, shouldn't the menu link say the same? |
@drewkime -- You're right. I changed it. |
The new feature is described here.
Here's an example of a profile page. (Mine.)

Please no complaints about programs that aren't on Metacritic. I know. ;-)
