<lb ed="#Ba" n="11"/>Littera: <quote xml:id="alalal-a42931-Qd1e119"> Ad quod dicimus, quia Pater

<lb ed="#Ba" n="14"/>1. Dicit Philosophus, quod cujus est
<lb ed="#Ba" n="15"/>potentia, ejus est et actus: si igitur
po<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="16"/>tentia generandi nature est, etiam actus
<lb ed="#Ba" n="17"/>nature erit: et sic natura generat, quod
<lb ed="#Ba" n="18"/>supra negatum est .

<lb ed="#Ba" n="20"/>gignere Filium, cum eadem natura sit in
<lb ed="#Ba" n="21"/>Filio et Spiritu sancto, in istis erit
ea<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="22"/>dem potentia: aut ergo possibilis ad
<lb ed="#Ba" n="23"/>actum, aut impossibilis. Si primo modo:
<lb ed="#Ba" n="24"/>ponamus ergo, quod Filius generet et
<lb ed="#Ba" n="25"/>Spiritus sanctus, tunc ex hoc non
se<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="26"/>quitur impossibile quod supra
impro<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="27"/>batum est: quia magnum sequitur
im<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="28"/>possibile, scilicet quod series divine
<lb ed="#Ba" n="29"/>generationis non impletur, ut dicit
Au<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="30"/>gustinus. Si autem impossibilis es ad
<lb ed="#Ba" n="31"/>actum, tunc erit cassa et vana, quod est

<lb ed="#Ba" n="34"/>Pater non est potens nisi natura, ut

poten<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="36"/>tia, cum dicitur, potentia natura
gene<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="37"/>randi, et potentia gignendi absolute :

<lb ed="#Ba" n="39"/>hujusmodi, non dicit potentiam per
com<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="40"/>parationem ad actum, sed. per comparatio-

<lb ed="#Ba" n="41"/>nem ad naturam in qua radicatur,
ta<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="42"/>men cum aliqua inclinatione ad actum:
<lb ed="#Ba" n="43"/>cum aufem dicitur, potentia gignendi,
<lb ed="#Ba" n="44"/>dicitur potentia in actu, ut prius dictum
<lb ed="#Ba" n="45"/>est: unde nihil prohibet de potentia
<lb ed="#Ba" n="46"/>prima concedere, quod sit in Filio sub
<lb ed="#Ba" n="47"/>distinctione tali, quod gignendi potest
<lb ed="#Ba" n="48"/>esse gerundivum verbi activi personalis :
<lb ed="#Ba" n="49"/>et tunc non debet concedi, quod potentia
<lb ed="#Ba" n="50"/>natura gignendi sit in Filio: quia sensus
<lb ed="#Ba" n="51"/>esset, quod potentia esset in Filio quae ex
<lb ed="#Ba" n="52"/>natura posset generare, etsi non
gene<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="53"/>raret: quia qui ex potentia nature
ge<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="54"/>nerat, non ex necessitate generat. Si
<lb ed="#Ba" n="55"/>autem sit gerundivum verbi
impersona<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="56"/>lis vel verbi personalis passivi, tunc bene
<lb ed="#Ba" n="57"/>potest concedi: quia si est gerundivum
<lb ed="#Ba" n="58"/>verbi impersonalis, tunc sensus est,
<lb ed="#Ba" n="59"/>quod potentia ex natura sit in Filio qua
<lb ed="#Ba" n="60"/>aliquis potest generare. Si vero est verbi
<lb ed="#Ba" n="61"/>personalis passivi, sensus est, quod
po<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="62"/>tentia ex natura sit in Filio qua gene~
<lb ed="#Ba" n="63"/>retur: et hunc ultimum sensum ponit
<lb ed="#Ba" n="64"/>Magister in Littera: actus enim omnes
<lb ed="#Ba" n="65"/>particularium sunt et potentiae : sed

<lb ed="#Ba" n="67"/>ideo secundum Damascenum, licet
po<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="68"/>tentia sit nature, ut in qua fundatur,
<lb ed="#Ba" n="69"/>tamen non denominat naturam, sed
hy<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="70"/>postasim : unde dicit Damascenus, quod
<lb ed="#Ba" n="71"/>licet in Christo sint due voluntates,
ta<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="72"/>men non est nisi unus volens, et non
<lb ed="#Ba" n="73"/>duo volentes: et ideo non oportet, quod
<lb ed="#Ba" n="74"/>actus sit nature immediate, ita quod non
<lb ed="#Ba" n="75"/>hypostasis. Vel dicatur, quod hoc
ge<lb break="no" ed="#Ba" n="76"/>neraliter verum est, cujus est potentia
<lb ed="#Ba" n="77"/>ejus est et actus: sed non oportet quod
<lb ed="#Ba" n="78"/>eodem modo: quia potentia est alicujus
<lb ed="#Ba" n="79"/>secundum naturam, et actus est ejusdem
<lb ed="#Ba" n="80"/>secundum hypostasim, et ita est nature

<lb ed="#Ba" n="83"/>est in tribus personis, sed non est eadem
<lb ed="#Ba" n="84"/>comparatio nature in illis: quia per

<lb ed="#Ba" n="86"/>in quantum natura est in una,
