deter<lb ed="#L" n="5" break="no"/>minauit magister de sacramentis in communi
<lb ed="#L" n="6"/>Hic determinat specialiter de quodam
sacra<lb ed="#L" n="7" break="no"/>mento veteris legis, scilicet de circucisione, qua
<lb ed="#L" n="8"/>"cum sacramentis no. le. aliquam similitudinem
<lb ed="#L" n="9"/>habebat. Et diuiditur in duas partes. Quia
pri<lb ed="#L" n="10" break="no"/>mo determinat de circuncisione quae fiebat octaua die. Et secundo
<lb ed="#L" n="11"/>mouet quaestionem de pueris qui moriebantur ante octauam diem.
<lb ed="#L" n="12"/>Secunda ibi, Si vero quaeratur. Prima diuiditur in partes quatuor
<lb ed="#L" n="13"/>Primo ostendit eius efficaciam. Secundo, institutionem. Tertio
<lb ed="#L" n="14"/>institutionis rationem. Quarto, mutationem. Secunda ibi, Hic
<lb ed="#L" n="15"/>est dicendum. Tertia ibi, Data autem fuit. Quarta ibi, Ideo autem
<lb ed="#L" n="16"/>mutata est. Prima in duas. Primo tangit efficaciam circuncisionis.
<lb ed="#L" n="17"/>Secundo ostendit quod iidem habebant quaedam remedia ante
<lb ed="#L" n="18"/>praeceptum de circuncisione datum ibi, Quaeritur autem de viris
<lb ed="#L" n="19"/>qui fuerunt. Et haec est sententia & diuisio lectionis in generali.

sacramen<lb ed="#L" n="22" break="no"/>tis veteris legis, tamen antiquis idem remedium conferebat
con<lb ed="#L" n="23" break="no"/>tra peccata quod modo baptismus, tamen non aperiebat ianuam
<lb ed="#L" n="24"/>regni caelestis, quod auctoritatibus confirmat. Postea quaeri
<lb ed="#L" n="25"/>quod remedium habebant contra peccatum viri ante
circunci<lb ed="#L" n="26" break="no"/>sionem, & foeminae ante & post. Et respondet quod illi qui ei
<lb ed="#L" n="27"/>stirpe Abrahae descendebant, per circuncisionem iustificabantur.
<lb ed="#L" n="28"/>Qui vero ante circuncisionem fuerunt paruuli quidam in fide
pa<lb ed="#L" n="29" break="no"/>rentum, parentes vero virtute sacrificiorum, mulieres vero ante
<lb ed="#L" n="30"/>circuncisionem & post, per fidem & operationem bonam, vel suam,
<lb ed="#L" n="31"/>si erant adultae, vel parentum si erant paruulae: quod auctorita
<lb ed="#L" n="32"/>tibus confirmat. Postea determinat de institutione circuncisionis
<lb ed="#L" n="33"/>quantum ad quatuor, ostendens primocui data sit, scilicet Abrah
<lb ed="#L" n="34"/>primo, & consequenter semini eius. Secundo quare data est ipsi
<lb ed="#L" n="35"/>s. propter duo. Primo propter meritum obedientiae in signum
<lb ed="#L" n="36"/>fidei magnae. Et in distinctionem populi Iudaici a caeteris populis
<lb ed="#L" n="37"/>Secundo in qua parte fiebat, quia in carne praeputij, & hoc
du<lb ed="#L" n="38" break="no"/>plici ratione. Primo quia concupiscentia per quam peccatum
ori<lb ed="#L" n="39" break="no"/>ginale contrahitur a parentibus, in cuius remedium instituta est
<lb ed="#L" n="40"/>circuncisio, dominatur in illa parte magis. Secundo vt in illa par
<lb ed="#L" n="41"/>te homo signum obedientiae reciperet, in qua primus homo primo
<lb ed="#L" n="42"/>inobedientiam sensit. Quarto dicit quo tempore, & quo
instrumen<lb ed="#L" n="43" break="no"/>to, quia octauo die, & cultro lapideo. Et hoc ad designandum
duo<lb ed="#L" n="44" break="no"/>Primo resurrectionem carnis octaua aetate facienda, in qua
cor<lb ed="#L" n="45" break="no"/>ruptio carnis ab electis tolletur. Secundo ostendit resurrectioni
<lb ed="#L" n="46"/>Christi tertia die factam, per quam anima cuiuslibet in ipsum cre
<lb ed="#L" n="47"/>dentis circuncidetur a peccatis. Postea dicit quod ideo per
ba<lb ed="#L" n="48" break="no"/>ptismum circuncisio fuit mutata, quia sacramentum baptismi
<lb ed="#L" n="49"/>communius est & perfectius: in circuncisione enim solum peccata
<lb ed="#L" n="50"/>remittebantur, sed gratia non conferebatur. In baptismo vero
<lb ed="#L" n="51"/>gratia non habenti confertur, & habenti augetur. Vltimo
quaeri<lb ed="#L" n="52" break="no"/>tur vtrum paruuli qui moriebantur ante octauam diem, qua se
<lb ed="#L" n="53"/>cundum legem debebat fieri circuncisio saluarentur. Et dicit quod
<lb ed="#L" n="54"/>non, sicut modo non saluantur pueri qui moriuntur ante baptismum
<lb ed="#L" n="55"/>Subdit tamen quod propter necessitatem licebat pueros
circum<lb ed="#L" n="56" break="no"/>cidere ante octauam diem. Et in hoc terminatur sententia, &c
