duo<lb ed="#L" n="143" break="no"/>Primum est de poteslate Christi baptismum
in<lb ed="#L" n="144" break="no"/>stituentis. Secundum est de potestate quam
ho<lb ed="#L" n="145" break="no"/>minibus communicare potuit sed non
commu<lb ed="#L" n="146" break="no"/>u nicauit. Quantum ad primum quaeritur, vtrum

<!--4--> RESPONSIO. Sciendum est quod triplex est
potesta<lb ed="#L" n="6" break="no"/>respectu effectus sacramentorum, scilicet auctoritatis,
excellen<lb ed="#L" n="7" break="no"/>tiae, & ministerij. Potestas auctoritatis est, qua aliquis propri
<lb ed="#L" n="8"/>virtute remittit culpam, & confert gratiam. Potestas ministeri
<lb ed="#L" n="9"/>est per quam competit alicui solum sacramenta ministrare.
Po<lb ed="#L" n="10" break="no"/>testas excellentiae est media inter istas duas, quia aliquid
parti<lb ed="#L" n="11" break="no"/>cipat de auctoritatis potestate, licet non plene. Aliquid vero de
<lb ed="#L" n="12"/>potestate ministerij. Et secundum hoc patet quod Christus
se<lb ed="#L" n="13" break="no"/>cundum quod homo non habuit potestatem auctoritatis,
respe<lb ed="#L" n="14" break="no"/>ctu effectus sacramentorum. Cuius ratio est, quia, vt dictum est
<lb ed="#L" n="15"/>nullus habet talem potestatem, nisi propria virtute possit
conferr<lb ed="#L" n="16" break="no"/>gratiam, & remittere culpam, sed hoc non competit nisi Deo
<lb ed="#L" n="17"/>ergo non competit Christo secundum quod homo. Potestas
au<lb ed="#L" n="18" break="no"/>tem excellentiae competit Christo in quantum est homo. Cuiu
<lb ed="#L" n="19"/>ratio est, quia instrumento coniuncto comperit principalius actio
<lb ed="#L" n="20"/>quam instrumento separato. Sed humanitas Christi est quasi
in<lb ed="#L" n="21" break="no"/>strumentum coniunctum diuinitati, inquantum in eodem
sup<lb ed="#L" n="22" break="no"/>posito sunt diuinitas & humanitas, ergo actio Dei in sacramen
<lb ed="#L" n="23"/>tis principalius & excellentius competit Christo secundum quod
<lb ed="#L" n="24"/>homo (quasi instrumento coniuncto) quam cuicunque homini
<lb ed="#L" n="25"/>puro, qui est quasi instrumentum separatum.

<!--5--> Haec autem excellentia consistit in quatuor. Primo quia es
<lb ed="#L" n="27"/>passione eius baptismus efficaciam habet, non effectiue, sed
me<lb ed="#L" n="28" break="no"/>ritorie. Secundo quia instrumenta instituit. Tertio quia
quan<lb ed="#L" n="29" break="no"/>doque effectum sacramenti sine sacramento tribuit, Quarto quia
<lb ed="#L" n="30"/>ad inuocationem nominis eius baptismus aliquo tempore colla
<lb ed="#L" n="31"/>tus fuit, vt in primitiua ecclesia ex causa superius dicta. Quod
<lb ed="#L" n="32"/>autem dictum est quod Christus secundum potestatem
excel<lb ed="#L" n="33" break="no"/>lentiae dedit quandoque effectum sacramenti sine sacramento,
<lb ed="#L" n="34"/>intelligendum est per modum meriti, quia potestas auctoritati
<lb ed="#L" n="35"/>non competebat ei inquantum fuit horno.

<lb ed="#L" n="40"/>homo per ministerium excellentiae, vt dictum est.
