<lb ed="#L" n="60"/>CIRCA distinctionem illam quaeritur primo vtrum
<lb ed="#L" n="61"/>confirmatio sit sacramentum. Et videtur quod non
<lb ed="#L" n="62"/>quia eiusdem virtutis (scilicet fidei) actus sunt cre
<lb ed="#L" n="63"/>"dere & confiteri. Actus enim exterior & interior
<lb ed="#L" n="64"/>in idem principium reducuntur ordine quodam.
<lb ed="#L" n="65"/>Sed sacramento baptismi attribuitur actus credendi, quum

<lb ed="#L" n="81"/>Primo ex conuenientia vitae corporalis ad spiritualem sic: Sicut
<lb ed="#L" n="82"/>est in vita naturali sic suo modo est in vita spirituali, sed in vita
<lb ed="#L" n="83"/>naturali sic est quod praeter generationem per quam vita acquiritur,
<lb ed="#L" n="84"/>requiritur alia actio per quam homo ad perfectam quantitatem &
<lb ed="#L" n="85"/>virtutem producitur, scilicet augmentum, ergo similiter in vita
<lb ed="#L" n="86"/>spirituali praeter generationem spiritualem quae fit in baptismo,
<lb ed="#L" n="87"/>per quam vita acquiritur, requiritur alia actio sacramentalis per
<lb ed="#L" n="88"/>quam vita spiritualis ad perfectam virtutem deducitur, hoc
au<lb ed="#L" n="89" break="no"/>tem fit per confirmationem in qua datur spiritus san. ad
perfe<lb ed="#L" n="90" break="no"/>ctum robur, igitur &c. Et hoc est quod dicitur de consecr. di. 5
<lb ed="#L" n="91"/>can. 1. Omnes fideles per manus impositionem episcoporum
spir<lb ed="#L" n="92" break="no"/>sanct. accipere debent vt pleni Christiani inueniantur. Secunde
<lb ed="#L" n="93"/>patet idem ex effectu ad quem ordinatur sic: Ad actum qui
ha<lb ed="#L" n="94" break="no"/>bet spiritualem difficultatem opus est spirituali adiutorio. Sed
<lb ed="#L" n="95"/>praeter difficultatem quae est in credendo est spiritualis
difficul<lb ed="#L" n="96" break="no"/>tas in confitendo fidem tempore persecurionis, & quando es
<lb ed="#L" n="97"/>persecutione imminet periculum mortis. Licet enim ad
simpli<lb ed="#L" n="98" break="no"/>cem confessionem fidei tempore pacis sufficiat virtus fidei,
ta<lb ed="#L" n="99" break="no"/>men ad confessionem fidei coram persecutore vbi est periculum
<lb ed="#L" n="100"/>mortis, non sufficit fides, sed cum fide requiritur virtus
fortitu<lb ed="#L" n="101" break="no"/>dinis quae est circa pericula mortem inferentia, vt dicitur 3.
Ethi<lb ed="#L" n="102" break="no"/>corum, ergo praeter sacramentum baptismi quod est in
adiuto<lb ed="#L" n="103" break="no"/>rium fidei ad credendum, requiritur aliud sacramentum quod
<lb ed="#L" n="104"/>fit in adiutorium fortitudinis ad audacter confitendum, &
ho<lb ed="#L" n="105" break="no"/>est sacramentum confirmationis. Ad hoc enim ordinatur vt
ho<lb ed="#L" n="106" break="no"/>mo coram persecutore audacter fidem confireatur. Et hoc ess
<lb ed="#L" n="107"/>quod dicit Melchiades papa de consecra. disti. 5. canon. Spiritu.
<lb ed="#L" n="108"/>san. dicens sic: In baptismo regeneramur ad vitam, post
baptis<lb ed="#L" n="109" break="no"/>mum confirmamur ad pugnam. Et ibidem, confirmatio armat &
<lb ed="#L" n="110"/>instruit ad agones huius mundi. Tertio apparet idem ex causa
<lb ed="#L" n="111"/>cui conformamur sic, Per sacramentum vnimur &
conforma<lb ed="#L" n="112" break="no"/>mur Christo, Christus autem non solum est pater noster sed
sa<lb ed="#L" n="113" break="no"/>cerdos, & rex, sicut ergo per baptismum conformamur ei vt
mi<lb ed="#L" n="114" break="no"/>nistri summo sacerdoti, sic oportet quod per aliquod
sacramen<lb ed="#L" n="115" break="no"/>tum conformemur ei vt milites suo regi. Et hoc fit per
confir<lb ed="#L" n="116" break="no"/>mationem per quam asscribimur ei vt milites ad pugnam
spiri<lb ed="#L" n="117" break="no"/>tualem contra aduersarios fidei, quare &c. Et sic patet primum.

<lb ed="#L" n="119"/>tum simpliciter necessarium ad salutem. Est tamen necessarium
<lb ed="#L" n="120"/>in casu, scilicet quando imminet persecutor coram quo fides est
<lb ed="#L" n="121"/>confitenda, & habetur copia ministri confirmare volentis &
va<lb ed="#L" n="122" break="no"/>lentis. Quod autem non sit necessarium simpliciter ad salutem
<lb ed="#L" n="123"/>patet: quia paruuli baptizati si ante confirmationem decedant
<lb ed="#L" n="124"/>saluantur. Quod autem sit necessarium in easu persecutionis
po<lb ed="#L" n="125" break="no"/>test probari sic, quando effectus est necessarius, & causa est
ne<lb ed="#L" n="126" break="no"/>cessaria, sed effectus confirmationis scilicet confiteri fidem
tem<lb ed="#L" n="127" break="no"/>pore persecutionis est necessarius ad salutem cuilibet fideli, erge
<lb ed="#L" n="128"/>& sacramentum confirmationis est necessarium ad salutem ii
<lb ed="#L" n="129"/>tali casu si habeatur opportunitas conferentis. Qui enim in tali
<lb ed="#L" n="130"/>casu renueret sacramentum confirmationis accipere, peccaret
<lb ed="#L" n="131"/>mortaliter, propter quod dicit Melchiades vbi supra: quamuis
<lb ed="#L" n="132"/>continuo transituris sufficiant regenerationis beneficia,
victu<lb ed="#L" n="133" break="no"/>ris tamen necessaria sunt confirmationis auxilia.
