¶ Queritur quis sit melior
<lb ed="#V" n="107"/>omnibus pensatis. Respondeo quod isti baptismi inter se se
<lb ed="#V" n="108"/>habent sicut excedentes et excessi. In imprimendo enim
<lb ed="#V" n="109"/>characterem baptismus aque alios duos excedit: quia
<lb ed="#V" n="110"/>characterem non imprimunt: et in hoc quod per ipsum
plu<lb ed="#V" n="111" break="no"/>ribus potest subueniri. Subuenit enim adultis et
par<lb ed="#V" n="112" break="no"/>uulis: et tempore persecutionis et pacis. Baptismus
au<lb ed="#V" n="113" break="no"/>tem sanguinis alios duos excedit in hoc quod non potest in
<lb ed="#V" n="114"/>quinari sordibus secundis. Unde Dama libro 4. capie.
pri<lb ed="#V" n="115" break="no"/>mo. dicit: quod valde venerandus est inquantum secundis vltra
<lb ed="#V" n="116"/>non inquinatur sordibus: et statim in vitam introducit
<lb ed="#V" n="117"/>eternam. Baptismus autem penitentie aliis duobus
in<lb ed="#V" n="118" break="no"/>ferior est in hoc quod non semper totam penam remittit:

<lb ed="#V" n="121"/>in habente vsum libero arbii. nullus aliorum sine illo ad salute
<lb ed="#V" n="122"/>prodest. Omnibus autem pensatis si distinguatur
inte<lb ed="#V" n="123" break="no"/>rior deuotio contra ipsam corporis passionem: vel
ablu<lb ed="#V" n="124" break="no"/>tionem in adultis: planum est quod ipsa penitentia: in qua
con<lb ed="#V" n="125" break="no"/>prehendo deuotionem: quia sine ista non prosunt alia ad
sa<lb ed="#V" n="126" break="no"/>lutem: et ipsa sine aliquo aliorum in casu necessitatis
pro<lb ed="#V" n="127" break="no"/>dest: melior est. Si autem ipsa comparetur ad alia duo pro
<lb ed="#V" n="128"/>ut sunt in paruulis in quibus nulla requiritur penitentia:
<lb ed="#V" n="129"/>tunc dico quod penitentia potest esse ita exilis in adulto:
quam<lb ed="#V" n="130" break="no"/>uis sufficiens: quod non recipit totam gratiam: sicut paruus
<lb ed="#V" n="131"/>in baptismo aque vel sanguinis. Si autem consideretur

<lb ed="#V" n="2"/>Et quia ille baptismus simpliciter est melior in quo plus datur
<lb ed="#V" n="3"/>de gratia: ideo concedo quod interior deuotio considerata in suo
<lb ed="#V" n="4"/>summo melior est quam baptismus aque vel sanguinis secundum quod
<lb ed="#V" n="5"/>distinguitur contra eam: et post ipsum baptismus sanguinis est
<lb ed="#V" n="6"/>melior. Si autem baptismus sanguinis et aque
consideren<lb ed="#V" n="7" break="no"/>tur vt includentes interiorem deuotionem: tunc quilibet eorum
<lb ed="#V" n="8"/>est melior quam interior deuotio tantum: et baptismus

¶ Queris quid sit maius: fides an aqua:
<lb ed="#V" n="10"/>non dubito quin respondeatur fides: si ergo quod minus
<lb ed="#V" n="11"/>est sanctificare potest nonne quod maius est: idest fides: hoc
<lb ed="#V" n="12"/>confirmat quod dictum est de preeminentia baptismi
com<lb ed="#V" n="13" break="no"/>tritionis super baptismum aque. Ex illo tempere id est postquam
<lb ed="#V" n="14"/>fuit institutum et promulgatum: quod ibi suit predictum
<lb ed="#V" n="15"/>cum dicit. Saluator: nisi quis renatus etc. Baptismi
to<lb ed="#V" n="16" break="no"/>ta sacramenta implentur: non tamen quantum ad impressionem characte
<lb ed="#V" n="17"/>tis. Suam poientiam sacramentis non alligauit scilicet sic intelligendo
<lb ed="#V" n="18"/>quod per aliam viam potest sanctificare quam per sacramenta. Non
<lb ed="#V" n="19"/>posse prodesse scilicet manente fictione. Eterno supplicio
pu<lb ed="#V" n="20" break="no"/>niendos: hic appellat eternum supplicium non penam
sen<lb ed="#V" n="21" break="no"/>sus: sed carentiam visionis dei. Fidelium consortio non
