ad unitatem intelligibilem. Quaeritur

<quote>Inter omnia quae recte dicuntur unum, arcem

<lb ed="#Q"/>ponimus in Deo et quam divinam appellamus;
<lb ed="#Q"/>ergo summa est inter omnes unitas divina.

<lb ed="#Q"/>pluralitate quam unitas quae est cum pluralitate
<lb ed="#Q"/>aliqua. Cum igitur in Deo sit unitas cum plura<lb ed="#Q"/>litate<!--i-->
aliqua, scilicet personarum et notionum:
<lb ed="#Q"/>ergo in Deo non est summa unitas quae possit
<lb ed="#Q"/>esse vel intelligi; aut si est summa inter omnes,
<lb ed="#Q"/>videtur quod in Deo non deberet<!--k--> esse pluralitas
<lb ed="#Q"/>personarum. —— Et iterum ex hoc videtur quod,
<lb ed="#Q"/>cum in anima vel in<!--l--> angelo sit unitas essentiae
<lb ed="#Q"/>sine pluralitate personarum, quod maior sit aut
<lb ed="#Q"/>etiam<!--m--> aequalis.

<lb ed="#Q"/>quae possunt esse vel intelligi, unitas divina
<lb ed="#Q"/>maior est et summa quae esse vel intelligi pos<lb ed="#Q"/>sit;
nec est dicendum quod ei repugnat plurali<lb ed="#Q"/>tas
personarum et notionum<!--4-->.

pluralitas personarum summae unitati.

<lb ed="#Q"/>quod unitatem summae potentiae plus declarat
<lb ed="#Q"/>multitudo creaturarum et effectuum quam unitas
<lb ed="#Q"/>effectus; multitudo enim creaturarum declarat uni<lb ed="#Q"/>tatem
summae potentiae et eius infinitatem vel<!--r-->
<lb ed="#Q"/>summitatem: unde quanto plures sunt effectus et
<lb ed="#Q"/>quanto plures possunt esse, tanto plus est de
<lb ed="#Q"/>potentia. Unde per hoc manifestatur divina po<lb ed="#Q"/>tentia
esse summa. Sic dicimus quod pluralitas
<lb ed="#Q"/>personarum plus declarat et manifestat unitatem
<lb ed="#Q"/>essentiae divinae<!--s--> quam unitas personae sive no<lb ed="#Q"/>tionis.
Unde secundum <name ref="#Augustine">Augustinum</name><!--5-->: <quote>Sicut
<lb ed="#Q"/>verbum declarat illud quod habemus<!--t--> in animo</quote>,
<lb ed="#Q"/>sic et ista pluralitas personarum virtutem et uni<lb ed="#Q"/>tatem
essentiae manifestat.

<lb ed="#Q"/>Item, alia est ratio. Nam cum eadem sit es<lb ed="#Q"/>sentia
et omnino simplex<!--u--> in istis personis, non
<lb ed="#Q"/>multiplicata secundum multiplicationem earum,
<lb ed="#Q"/>patet quod in ipsa est magna et summa perfec<lb ed="#Q"/>tio
unitatis. Unde in hoc deficit unitas essentiae
<lb ed="#Q"/>universalis ab unitate essentiae primae, quia licet
<lb ed="#Q"/>utraque sit in pluribus, tamen essentia univer<lb ed="#Q"/>salis
ita est in pluribus quod multiplicatur et
<lb ed="#Q"/>numeratur per illa; essentia autem divina non
<lb ed="#Q"/>multiplicatur per illa, immo eadem est<!--v--> non mul<lb ed="#Q"/>tiplicata
