ad bonum.

<lb ed="#Q"/>Ad quod sic: a. Quaecumque sic se habent
<lb ed="#Q"/>ut<!--k--> unum non addat aliquid super alterum nec
<lb ed="#Q"/>utrumque addat super tertium aliquid, sunt ea<lb ed="#Q"/>dem
simpliciter<!--2-->. Genus enim et species propter
<lb ed="#Q"/>hoc differentiam habent, quod unum non sit al<lb ed="#Q"/>terum,
quia unum addit super alterum<!--l-->: species
<lb ed="#Q"/>enim addit ultra genus differentiam; similiter ri<lb ed="#Q"/>sibile
addit super rationale in homine, quia po<lb ed="#Q"/>tentia
ridendi, qua dicitur homo risibile, et po<lb ed="#Q"/>tentia
ratiocinandi, qua dicitur rationale, non sunt
<lb ed="#Q"/>eadem, et propter hoc addunt super tertium. Sed
<lb ed="#Q"/>summum bonum nec addit aliquid super bonum
<lb ed="#Q"/>simpliciter sic nec sic<!--m-->, nec sunt plures modi ad<lb ed="#Q"/>ditionis;
unum<!--n--> igitur non addit super alterum,
<lb ed="#Q"/>sed sunt eadem simpliciter. — Minor patet:
<lb ed="#Q"/>nam si summum bonum addit aliquid super bo<lb ed="#Q"/>num,
aut addit bonum aut non-bonum. Non addit
<lb ed="#Q"/>non-bonum<!--o-->: quia sic esset ex bono et non-bono,
<lb ed="#Q"/>quod est inconveniens, nec esset summum. Si
<lb ed="#Q"/>addit bonum, aut idem sibi aut diversum. Non
<lb ed="#Q"/>idem: quoniam idem non additur sibi. Si diver<lb ed="#Q"/>sum:
ergo summum est ex bono et bono; ergo
<lb ed="#Q"/>est compositum; sed hoc est falsum, quoniam
<lb ed="#Q"/>ipsum est summe simplex; summum ergo bonum
<lb ed="#Q"/>nihil addit super bonum, ratione cuius dicitur
<lb ed="#Q"/>summum.

<lb ed="#Q"/>fiat summum —— obicitur in contrarium:

<lb ed="#Q"/>non—summum; ergo possum intelligere bonum

<lb ed="#Q"/>est quod dicit <name>Boethius</name><!--4-->: <quote>Circumscribatur
<lb ed="#Q"/>Primum per intellectum, adhuc est intelligere ho<lb ed="#Q"/>minem
sub intentione hominis, sicut potest in<lb ed="#Q"/>telligi
ens<!--u--> secundum quod sic, non intellecto
<lb ed="#Q"/>summo ente</quote>. Contingit ergo intelligere hoc bo<lb ed="#Q"/>num,
circumscripto summo bono, sicut hoc ens,

non sunt eadem sive convertibilia; ergo

<lb ed="#Q"/>non constat ex pluribus bonis; sed non—sum<lb ed="#Q"/>mum
bonum non est simplex bonum: ideo pos<lb ed="#Q"/>sum<!--x-->
ibi intelligere bonum et bonum, quia in
<lb ed="#Q"/>creatis materia non cointelligit formam, quorum
<lb ed="#Q"/>utrumque est bonum et e converso, sive illud
<lb ed="#Q"/>quod est ad modum materiae, illud quod est ad
<lb ed="#Q"/>modum formae et e converso. Ideo ergo summum

secundum quod bonum in effectibus dat
<lb ed="#Q"/>intelligere bonum in causa. Unde quod dicit: <quote>vi<lb ed="#Q"/>debis
bonum omnis boni</quote>, verum est, <quote>bonum
<lb ed="#Q"/>omnis boni</quote> in causando, non in dicendo, immo
<lb ed="#Q"/>quantum ad hoc dicit determinationem rationis.

comparationem ad<!--d--> causam, sicut bonum; immo
<lb ed="#Q"/>cum loquimur de re secundum suam essentiam,
<lb ed="#Q"/>loquimur de ea absolute. Sed bonum notat com<lb ed="#Q"/>parationem
ad causam: bonum enim dicitur, quia
<lb ed="#Q"/>a bono et quia ad bonum; et ideo cum loquimur
<lb ed="#Q"/>de re quod bona sit, loquimur per comparationem
<lb ed="#Q"/>ad suam causam. Et ideo cum bonum non-sum<lb ed="#Q"/>mum
sit a bono summo tamquam a sua<!--e--> causa
<lb ed="#Q"/>efficiente, et in ipso tamquam in conservante, et
<lb ed="#Q"/>ad ipsum tamquam ad finem: ideo bonum non<lb ed="#Q"/>summum
semper dat intelligere bonum summum
