<lb ed="#Qc"/>Septimo quaeritur de poena mortalis peccati.
</p>

<lb ed="#Qc"/>1. Cum enim actio mortalis peccati sit tempo<lb ed="#Qc"/>ralis,
quantitas autem poenae debeat respondere
<lb ed="#Qc"/>quantitati culpae, non debetur poena aeterna pro
<lb ed="#Qc"/>actione temporali; ergo pro actione peccati mor<lb ed="#Qc"/>talis
non consequitur iuste<!--g--> poena aeterna.

<lb ed="#Qc"/>2. Si forte dicatur quod <mentioned>non pro actione tem<lb ed="#Qc"/>porali,
in quantum est temporalis, debetur poena
<lb ed="#Qc"/>aeterna, sed ratione maculae, quae permanet sine
<lb ed="#Qc"/>fine</mentioned>, intelligatur ergo<!--h--> per impossibile quod
<lb ed="#Qc"/>aliquis<!--i--> perpetraret aliquem actum mortalem et
<lb ed="#Qc"/>non cointelligatur macula in anima, numquid pro
<lb ed="#Qb"/>illo actu puniendus est temporaliter? Secundum
<lb ed="#Qc"/>hoc idem genus poenae deberetur actioni peccati
<lb ed="#Qc"/>mortalis et actioni peccati venialis. Quod si non
<lb ed="#Qc"/>est possibile ut existente actione mortali non
<lb ed="#Qc"/>consequatur<!--k--> macula, numquid meritum poenae
<lb ed="#Qc"/>debetur maculae aut ipsi actioni mortali? Quod
<lb ed="#Qc"/>si debetur ipsi actioni eo quod secundum actio<lb ed="#Qc"/>nem
est meritum vel demeritum, secundum hoc
<lb ed="#Qc"/>redit quaestio supra dicta: quo modo pro actione
<lb ed="#Qc"/>temporali punitur aliquis aeternaliter?

in suo aeterno, ideo Deus punit eum in

<lb ed="#Qc"/>cum possit contingere quod semel peccaverit homo
<lb ed="#Qc"/>mortaliter et tamen aeternaliter puniatur? — Si<!--m-->
<lb ed="#Qc"/>diceret aliquis quod <mentioned>ille qui in peccato moritur,
<lb ed="#Qc"/>in infinitum peccasset, si in<!--n--> infinitum vixis<lb ed="#Qc"/>set</mentioned>:
sed hoc qualiter verum est? Potest enim

<lb ed="#Qc"/>[Solutio]: 1. Ad quod dicendum quod circum<lb ed="#Qc"/>stantia
temporis non facit ut peccatum aeterna<lb ed="#Qc"/>liter
puniatur, sed circumstantia illius, in quem
<lb ed="#Qc"/>peccatur, qui, cum sit aeternus, implentibus man<lb ed="#Qc"/>data
promittit bona aeterna, transgressoribus vero
<lb ed="#Qc"/>comminatur poenas aeternas, ut qui in suo ae<lb ed="#Qc"/>terno
aeternum iudicem offenderint, in eius ae<lb ed="#Qc"/>terno
aeternaliter crucientur.

<lb ed="#Qc"/>2. Ad id vero quod obicitur consequenter
<lb ed="#Qb"/><mentioned>utrum possit esse actio mortalis sine macula</mentioned>,
<lb ed="#Qc"/>dicendum est quod non, utrique tamen debetur
<lb ed="#Qc"/>poena aeterna. Et licet ipsa actio transeat, ta<lb ed="#Qc"/>men
voluntas habitualis permanendi in peccato
<lb ed="#Qc"/>manet, et ideo dicit <name>B. Gregorius</name><!--3-->: <quote xml:id="ahsh-l2Bi3t1s2c7-Qd1e232">Qui
<lb ed="#Qc"/>aeternaliter peccato perfrui volunt, aeternam poe<lb ed="#Qc"/>nam
inveniunt, et quorum voluntas non habuit
<lb ed="#Qc"/>finem peccandi, non<!--r--> habebit finem torquendi</quote>.

<lb ed="#Qc"/>3. Et si dicatur de aliquo, qui peccavit peccato
<lb ed="#Qc"/>fornicationis et non vult ulterius illo peccato pec<lb ed="#Qc"/>care,
quod <mentioned>non peccat in suo aeterno</mentioned>: dicen<lb ed="#Qc"/>dum
est quod in hoc peccat in suo aeternos
<lb ed="#Qc"/>quod non vult poenitere de illo, et ita ratione
<lb ed="#Qc"/>fornicationis cum impoenitentia debetur ei poena
<lb ed="#Qc"/>aeterna.
