[BUG-7929] My Avatar has gone horribly wrong

Steps to Reproduce

I acquired a new outfit for my avatar then it just went wrong.

Actual Behavior

for some reason my avatar now has no left leg and the body just goes off in a long line to a point in the distance.

Expected Behavior

too just get on the play and be beset with a problem like this making the game impossible too play

Other information

I am very new to second life & this experience will probably be the end of second life for me if I cannot rectify this issue.

Heya PaulaTVGirl,

For an immediate workaround to this problem, go to Me (in the top menu bar) -> Preferences -> Graphics -> Advanced -> Untick "Hardware skinning".
You should only leave hardware skinning unticked temporarily to fix the problem before you do the steps below. Once you have done the steps below, please tick hardware skinning again.

There is a known problem with some rigged mesh and fitted mesh on AMD graphics cards with certain graphics settings - please see BUG-5156 and BUG-5139 for this bug.

If you are able to update your graphics driver to at least the 14.4 catalyst, part of this bug will be fixed.
You are using the old Catalyst 13.9 driver currently.
The latest driver for you card is the 14.9 Catalyst which can be downloaded here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%208.1%20-%2064
(Note: Do not choose the 14.11.2 Beta driver - this driver has a bug which causes all rigged mesh to be invisible)

If you are unsure if this is the correct driver for your card or your system is a laptop, please use the AMD autodetect tool to update your drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool

There is a fix for the BUG-5156 problem in the SnowStorm-RC viewer, which can be downloaded here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.7.21.296724

Once your driver is updated and you change to using the SnowStorm-RC viewer, this bug should be fixed for you when hardware skinning is ticked.
