There is a known problem with these avatars on AMD graphics cards with certain graphics settings - please see BUG-5156 for details.
If you enable Advanced Lighting Model under Me -> Preferences -> Graphics -> Advanced, this should stop the new avatar bodies looking stretched.
If enabling Advanced Lighting Model does not help, or causes too much of a performance impact on your system, then under the same graphics preferences tab, you need to untick "Hardware Skinning".
Note that disabling Hardware Skinning can cause a performance drop on some systems and most mesh will look pretty ugly and have bad shading.
This bug also affects non-fitted mesh - see BUG-5139 for details.
However, updating your graphics driver to the most recent 14.4 Catalyst version should fix most cases of this (it will not fix the fitted mesh starter avatars though).
The latest driver for your card can be found here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%208.1%20-%2064#amd-catalyst-packages
If you are still having problems with your starter avatar, then please go to Me -> Choose an avatar -> Classics
None of the avatars under the Classics section are affected by this bug.
