[BUG-9534] Invisible Avatar

Steps to Reproduce

I remade a new account, the same thing even happened to my old one.

Actual Behavior

As I made a new account for SL my avatar became invisible completely! I thought well maybe its just this computer so I downloaded second life again onto my other computer and it was the same thing! I even tried firestorm and nothing appears, not the clothes, not the avi, the only thing that appears is the world around me.

Expected Behavior

I was hoping after I tried everything that I could from support blogs and re-downloading and deleting caches and rebaking the avi that something would change and my avi would be visible again.

Other information

I just would like the situation fixed, im a big fan of SL...

Hello Salute,

Please see BUG-7653 for this bug.
The starter avatars are rigged mesh so they are affected by this problem.

The latest AMD Catalyst Omega 14.12 release graphics driver (8.17.0010.1333) has a known bug which causes all rigged mesh to be invisible unless hardware skinning is disabled.
You are currently using this buggy driver version (OpenGL Version: 4.2.13283 Compatibility Profile Context 14.501.1003.0).

If you disable hardware skinning under Me -> Preferences -> Graphics -> Advanced, this will work around the problem but it isn't an ideal solution.

The best workaround for now is to either:
Roll back your graphics drivers to the Catalyst 14.9 release or the Catalyst 14.4 release version.

If you are happy using beta driver versions, update to the new AMD 15.6 beta catalyst version - this driver has a fix for the bug.

Remember to tick "Hardware skinning" in graphics preferences again once you changed your driver version.

It did help I can now see my avi again, I just want to make sure it stays this way so I logged out and downloading the 15.6 catalyst beta.
