[BUG-11682] Cannot access IM button on profiles without logging in every time.

Steps to Reproduce

I have done update and seems to be an issue since then.

Actual Behavior

I access profiles to IM people and there is no option to do that. There is a padlock up top left corner of their profile and I have to click it and log in EVERY TIME to access IM and Picks etc on peoples profiles.

Expected Behavior

I normally can go into someone's profile and access their IM button immediately. This is happening for friends and non-friends.

Other information

I need to contact people regularly and this is a time-consuming issue.

Heya Arya,

The bug causing the lock to appear on profiles is filed at BUG-10415.
If you tick "Remember me on this computer" when you login through the viewer profiles, technically you should not need to login again in the next sessions, however, it's flakey & appears to fail more often then not, especially on the most recent release.

If these are non-friends you are wanting to IM, it's faster just to find them in Search -> people & open the IM from there & bypass the profile.

Hi Arya,

Just to rule out other possible factors, do you have the boxes checked to; Enable plugins, Accept Cookies and Enable Javascript in the Web category under Me > Prefernces > Setup?
