What just happened?

When attempting to load any viewer (Main, Firestorm, Alchemy), the initialization freezes at 'Initializing VFS' for a solid 5 minutes before finally loading the viewer itself.

What were you doing when it happened?

Attempting to start viewer.

What were you expecting to happen instead?

Having the viewer load in less than a minute.

Other information

Putting the '--noprobe' at the end of the shortcut target link in properties does not resolve the issue, neither does reinstalling said viewers. Am attempting legacy drivers install since I have Intel graphics, but I am not sure it will resolve issue.

Attempts to update drivers are a failure.

Hi SaeldurRae,

I'm sorry that you're having these delays launching. Unfortunately, both FireStorm and Alchemy are third party viewers which are not supported by Linden Lab. For support with third party viewers, please contact that viewer's developers. If you can reproduce this problem on an official Second Life Viewer, please update this issue with the information on the supported viewer version accordingly.

I do see that you have tried --noprobe and driver updates. I highly recommend you file a BUG report FireStorm for further advice.

Please let me know if you can reproduce this issue on the Second Life viewer.

Thanks!

Apologies, I'd totally forgotten to add the main SL viewer. It does the same thing, even on a fresh install. Took around five minutes, like the other viewers. Here's the info. Also, as an addendum, I tried to install the 64bit version, and it installed the 32bit instead. This error also occurred: https://gyazo.com/c1dbf2cb2708fbf52d04d750ea0a22fe

Hi SaeldurRae,

In that case, we have a fix all ready to go in a Release Candidate (RC) of the Second Life Viewer.

Please try this version:
https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer/6.2.4.528492.html

If that does not resolve the issue, please update this issue once more but please provide all your Second Life logs by selecting them and sending to a compressed file, then attach that file to this Jira.

This page tells you where to find the logs folder: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.3

Finally, if --noprobe is not working for FireStorm that becomes a tricky situation because it should work, but Linden Lab does not support any third party viewers, so you'd really need to contact FS support for more help there.

Thanks!
