Steps to Reproduce

  • i have doing a complete uninstall and then reinstall of my SL viewers (including Firestorm.)
    *I test my voice with Second life viewer ,Firestorm, Singularity and tested it in echo valley place:
    it's always this monster voice

I change my microphone for news(Selecline ;Logitech) *I test my voice on Skype and it's is good , a woman voice ! i uninstal skype and test my voice in Second life :always monster voice

*I reinstalled my sound drivers *i had configure my software firewalls properly for Second Life.

  • I apply the " Jira recommandation " and had change my microphone properties in Manage Audio Devices"for "2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD quality)."

*.I had contacting Second life support &technical assistance &create a case to have help :

With Linden Key Accounts Specialist we had run a some tests from my computer :

My network time is good & the Input device is set to the correct microphone in audio devices - Preferences > Sound & Media, "Input/Output Devices":

The problem still persists

Actual Behavior

Since July ,When i utilise the voice in Second life ,I hear others normally voice But my own voice has the robotic sound*-- voice morphing is not selected.

Recover my voice

Heya Artemisia,

This bug is filed at BUG-9875.
I see you already have a watch on that issue :)

Changing the Microphone default format to "2 channel, 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD quality)" is fixing quite a few people with the Windows 10 monster voice bug, but it isn't fixing everyone.
For the people that isn't working for, I know of no workaround to fix it.
Though to note - some people are fixed by using a different external microphone. It seems to be mostly inbuilt laptop microphones that are affected.
