I have the same problem with this app.htm as with the extension versions 4.0 and 4.1, it works in Firefox but not in Waterfox. |
Maybe you could just update the Firefox version requirements on addons.mozilla.org for your addon versions 4.0+, saying that those require Firefox 58+ whatever version they actually require to work ? |
You are right, I have to do that. Thank you. |
Hi, same issue here, any news on this? Waterfox 56.x are based on Firefox 56. mozlz4-edit versions 4.0 and later are broken in Waterfox 56.x due to relying on JavaScript modules support, which according to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Statements/import#Browser_compatibility requires at least Firefox 60 (and the preference mentioned for older versions doesn't seem to actually work in Firefox 56 nor Waterfox 56). Testing in more detail with mozlz4-edit version 4.1:

Last working version in current Waterfox 56.2.5 (Windows 7) is version 3.0, later versions 4.0 and 4.1 do not work. The extension page is properly displayed when one clicks on the circled S toolbar button, but then the buttons won't work ; for example the "Open file" one will allow to select a file, but then nothing will happen ; the "Configuration" button won't display anything when clicked. The problem is still here on a fresh Waterfox profile. I don't have any problem on current Firefox 63.0.3. Maybe versions 4.0 and 4.1 introduced incompatibilities with old Firefox versions ? The Firefox add-on site still says 4.0 and 4.1 are compatible with Firefox 48+ however.
