Hi guys,

I've been using SFEPy for the last couple of years and working with it in MacOSX and Anaconda. Everything was working just fine until I had to install a fresh copy of Anaconda distribution on my M2 Max Mac (python 3.11.7).

I tried to install SFEPy from conda-forge and I got the following:

Channels:

  • conda-forge
  • defaults
    Platform: osx-arm64
    Collecting package metadata (repodata.json): done
    Solving environment: failed

LibMambaUnsatisfiableError: Encountered problems while solving:

  • nothing provides libgcc-ng >=7.3.0 needed by sfepy-2019.1.1-pyhd352d35_0

Could not solve for environment specs
The following package could not be installed
└─ sfepy is not installable because it requires
└─ libgcc-ng >=7.3.0 , which does not exist (perhaps a missing channel).

Given this, I tried to install Python 3.6.15 but it seems that is not available anymore and only 3.8.18 is available on Anaconda.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Not particular to Mac Apple silicon, but in past I resolved similar errors of mutually exclusive dependencies by using miniconda instead of anaconda.
