In general don't fall down the black hole of trying to optimize codegen, but sometimes it'd be easier to trace what was going on in the asm if it was less push-y/pop-y.

  • Basic use of otherwise unused gps
  • Some peephole
  • Some higher level pattern matching in tree might help
