Originally, I was messing around with the default theme a lot just to try and get the right palette. This meant that I had to be able to get the hex codes for a tailwind color palette, convert them to hsl and do all the cleanup, then finally use them as CSS variables.
Sounds like a daunting task, but VS Code really made it simple to do.
Of course, you don't have to do it all over again. Here's a snippet of all the Tailwind Colors as CSS Variables (in HSL) so you can copy/paste in true shadcn/ui fashion :)
