File operations work on integers declared as units, with gFortran reserving 6 for the screen.

Opening a new file over an open file's unit, simply replaces it:

open(unit=1, file='example.f')
open(unit=1, file='example2.f')

Perhaps some sort of warning system could be built in to mex for that case.
