High-Level Organization

The application's core functionality is to obtain information from event posters/sheet just by scanning. It is engineered to be done in the following ways

  • Scanning image
  • Scanning QR Code

Features

  • Scanning Event Posters: This feature allows the user to click a picture of the event poster and the event reminder is set by extracting information from the clicked picture.

  • Scanning QR code: Few posters will have QR codes on them, this feature allows the user to scan only the QR code to obtain information about the event and the event reminder is set accordingly.

  • Saving the event: The user will be able to save the event with information such as the name of the event, date, time and location.

  • Sharing the event: This feature allows the user to share the event posters or information to others in other social networking apps.

  • List of events: The user can have a list of events which shows him all the events that he has saved. This includes old events and upcoming events.

  • Delete the event: The user can delete any event from the event list if he wishes to do so.

  • Alarm preference: This feature allows to user to specify the notification time preference. The user will be able to set the notification half an hour before the event or one hour before the event. By default, it is set half an hour before the event.

  • Navigation: This helps the user to navigate to the event location with the help of google maps.

  • Priority: This allows the user to set the priority for the events. If the user specifies the priority for any event, then the notification for that event will be provided with an alarm sound.

  • App Actions: This feature shows the actions of the application which can be created as shortcuts or as separate widgets. App actions are provided for scanning the poster image and for scanning the QR code of the posters.
