Trying to run it from a up-to-date nixos-unstable system, with flakes enabled:

$ nix run github:shazow/foundry.nix#forge -- build:

Adding as overlay in a devShell works.

Ah it was pinned to an old nixpkgs, I updated it. Perhaps we should update the flake lock nightly too. Let me know if it works now?

Yes, I suppose updating nixpkgs would be useful as well, although maybe that should follow stable or something like that, to avoid the breakages of master?
