Optical trackpad control issue on HTC Legend #73

Whenever I touch the optical trackpad of my HTC Legend, pushes
on the on-screen jump and attack buttons are not recognized
for a short while after the touch (approx half second or so).
For the playing experience this essentially means that you
cannot initiate a jump and move the Android sideways
simultaneously.

(When I first played the game I got the impression that you
were only supposed to be able to jump when standing still.)

Some observations:

1. The controls work perfectly as long as the optical trackpad
isn't touched, e.g. with on-screen only and tilt modes.
2. Even in on-screen only and tilt mode, swiping the finger
over the optical trackpad will cause the on-screen button
presses to not be recognized correctly for a short moment.
3. I can confirm that the controls work perfectly on an HTC
Hero (which has a trackball instead of an optical trackpad).

Device on which the issue occurs:

- HTC Legend
- Android 2.2
- Original ROM

If this is an error by HTC, I propose to "fix" this issue by
making the game default to on-screen only controls on HTC
Legend devices. The way the controls work currently on these
devices could give the game an undeserved bad reputation.

If you need more information I can gladly assist you with
hooking up my phone to the debugger, adding breakpoints,
etc, if you know a place where I should look.

Anyway, thanks for a great game! I discovered it through your
Google I/O talk (Building Aggressively Compatible Android Games),
which I found really inspirational!
