An app’s icon in the app bar is replaced with a default icon whenever that app gets an update installed. Workaround: Using Tasker to have a shortcut on my homescreen to kill, launch, and close, the App Bar app.

Some broken icons:

After using 'Restart app bar':

This issue applies to the Astro Slide as well:

On my Astro, I just updated Google Maps in the new V07 firmware, and the icon remained, so this appears to be fixed there at least =)

It doesn't seem like the new version of the app is making it to the Cosmo. I don't understand why Planet haven't published it to the Play Store so it could be updated independently of the OS.

Device App Bar app version Firmware version
Astro Slide 1.75 V07
Cosmo Communicator 1.69 V25

It'd be worth trying installing the updated APK from the Astro onto the Cosmo.

Ok, I've just installed it on my Cosmo, and it seems to work fine there, and fixes the issue! Here is the v1.75 APK from the Astro for anyone who wants to install it on their Cosmo.

It's great that there's a solution now, but I reckon we should leave the GitHub issue open until Planet actually deploy the updated app to the Cosmo.
