Bug Description

Url containing unicode character is not displayed as a link

Steps to Reproduce

  1. send an url containing unicode character. eg https://translate.google.com/?sl=jp&tl=en&text=株

Actual Result:
url sent as plain text. Recipients need to manually copy and paste the url into browser

Expected Result:
url is convert to a clickable link

This is a duplicate of #4810. I'm going to close this issue.

In short, this is happening because is not a valid URL character according to the URL specification.
