Using a supported version?

  • I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

Before the last (forced) update, the taskbar icon showed the exact number of messages. Since that update, it always shows "9+", which is completely useless.

Steps to reproduce

Probably occurs any time you log into an account with more than 9 unread messages?

Expected result

The taskbar icon shows the correct number of unread messages.

Actual result

The taskbar icon shows "9+", in an absurdly large red circle that covers most of the app icon
