Unable to load selected attachment

• I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
• I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

No matter which file type I select or drop onto Signal Desktop, always "Unable to load selected attachment".

Steps to reproduce

1. Any chat
2. select or drop any file

Expected result

file gets uploaded

Actual result

"Unable to load selected attachment".

Hi there, I'm not able to repro on a fresh install of Kubuntu 24.04 using signal 7.15.0-beta.1. Selecting files (png and webp) and dragging them were both working for direct and group chats.

Can you please:

• Check if the problem is happening on 7.15.0-beta.1 for you https://support.signal.org/hc/en-us/articles/360007318471-Signal-Beta
• Share more details of the files you're trying to use
• Provide debug log (View Menu -> Debug Log)

In the meantime I updated to Kubuntu 24.04 and now the problem is gone. Cannot give more details for my old setup, sorry.
