POTC 502, Democracy.io still working

Hi

I forked this repo and built it on my end. I got the SmartyStreets working, and now getting legislators fails from POTC. I never replaced the DEBUG_KEY in the config file, because

https://congressforms.eff.org/

Gives me a 502, and I'm assuming that's where we get the key?

Yet Democracy.io is still working so where is it pulling the forms from, and is it possible for me to hit that same version of the API? I'm just trying to sort out how this works and would appreciate any response!
